Speaker Profile :

Satoshi Nakagawa was born in 1961 in Japan, and graduated The University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Agricultural Chemistry/Faculty of Agriculture in 1987, following he obtained a degree of Master of Agriculture.After graduation he joined Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd., and he was in charge of R&D for applied microbiology, genome biology, and bioinformatics at Tokyo Research Laboratories. .From 1987 to 1995, he dedicated to research on development of industrial bakers yeast, construction of industrial bacterial strains producing microbial metabolites and enzymes. He received a doctor's degree of Agriculture from the University of Tokyo in 1996

In 1996, he started to organize DNA sequencing group and bioinformatics group for human cDNA analysis and microbial genome analysis. In 2000, his team successfully determined whole genome sequence of amino acid producing strain, Corynebacterium glutamicum. And in 2000,he became a manager of Tokyo Research Laboratories. From 2002 to 2007, he temporary worked for a venture company focusing on microbial genome analysis and became a president of the company. After return to Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co.,

Ltd., he organized a joint research between industry and the academic world on research of bio-ethanol production at Department of Research Alliance. Based on this kind of experiences, he again temporary worked for Japan Biological Informatics Consortium to manage industry- academic-government collaborative research on non-coding RNA from 2008 to 2010. A new company KYOWA HAKKO BIO CO., LTD., which was former biochemical business unit of Kyowa Hakko Kogyo, was newly established in 2008 and Satoshi Nakagawa was

assigned to the new company as a manager of Scientific Affairs & Research Planning of Healthcare Products Development Center in 2010. He has been in charge of supporting nutrition and health related products business in overseas business.
